Veyli is Kids’ Chance of Massachusetts 2020 scholarship recipient.

“In May 2020 I graduated with my Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice from Umass Lowell, thus making me the first in my family to graduate college. In May 2021 I will be graduating with my Masters in Criminal Justice and I intend on pursuing my PhD in Sociology or Criminology. I graduated a year early with a 4.0 GPA. While being a full time student, I also worked as a resident advisor, a research assistant, and a behavior technician.

In December 2018 my father passed away after falling down an elevator shift at a job site. My family experienced emotional and financial burdens. The absence of my father left a hole in the foundation of our family. I also worried whether I could continue my education, which my father had always helped push.

Kids’ Chance is an organization that allowed me to continue following my dreams. Without the assistance of the organization, I would be facing the difficult decision of going into debt or halting my educational career. Kids’ Chance supports driven students and gives them an opportunity to accomplish incredible goals.”
